Open Houses Good Or Bad
So you have this listing and you have posted in the MLS. You have a sign in the yard. You have sent out email blasts, called the neighbors and door knocked the street. Now here we are a week in and it is time to decided, should you hold it open. The school of thought for open houses sit in 2 camps:
1 This is a waste of time and effort. I am going to schedule the open and send out the cards, door knock and advertise all so I can spend 2 hours by myself.
2 It is an opportunity to advertise and spread the word about an active listing. When and if people show up it is more talk about this listing. Even if no one shows up, it was a chance to promote my listing and myself to the neighbors and my client.
If your goal is to do your best for your client than it is best to get their opinion of Open Houses and the effort involved.
